About
YellowPage Consulting
Merritt Mattson of Yellow Page Consulting LLC has long been
a recognized authority on the telephone directories Yellow
Pages. He brings over thirty years of "on the street"
experience in selling against them. In doing so, he has talked
to both consumers and business owners across America about
the effectiveness of this medium in the marketplace. As a
result, his seminar "The Other Side Of The Yellow Page
Story" (That's the side business owners are paying too
much for) gives a factual insight on this mysterious and often
non-cost effective product. He has worked with media salespeople
across the nation in helping them develop the techniques for
freeing up vast amounts of revenue for use in their particular
medium. AND, THEIR CLIENTS LOVE THEM FOR IT!
He also has acted as a consultant to many of America's top
businesses in showing them how to become more effective in
the Yellow Pages. His "The Other Side Of The Yellow Page
Story" seminars have often been termed, "The best
I have ever attended".
“It was the best seminar at the convention,” were
many acclaims at the 2003 RAB convention in New Orleans. “I
got more out of this than any other session,” were the
reports at the Texas Association of Broadcasters August of
2003 convention. “We’ve converted thousand and
thousands of dollars to our medium,” is the findings
of thousands of media account executives across America.
As a presenter, he is a professional speaker with a strong
sales background who employs humor and everyday experiences
to hammer home a powerful message. His depth as an author,
public speaker, as well as a management and sales trainer,
affords all in attendance a day to remember.
Merritt has owned successful retail businesses as well as
a national direct mail advertising company. With National
Merchandising Corporation, he climbed through the ranks from
sales representative to President and CEO. With that company,
he served as national sales manager, recruiting and training
salespeople across America. He was directly involved in the
start up of the electronic directory services in the mid 80s.
When it comes to teaching the conversion of those stagnant
Yellow Page dollars to creative media, he is the best in the
nation.
He also was CEO of the 432-FREE Company of St. Louis, Missouri
and Vice President of the 1411 Company in Houston, Texas,
both electronic directory information companies. He also was
the owner of and served as the President and CEO of the Trading
Post newspaper in Fort Collins, Colorado.
He and his wife Deanna live in the Des Moines, Iowa suburb
of Urbandale.
Donna Sheibley brings true "On the street" experiences
in Yellow Page Consulting. Serving as sales representative,
regional manger, national trainer, and Vice President of Sales
for National Merchandising Corporation (the national producers
of vinyl phone book covers), she has interacted with business
owners across the nation. In doing so, she has developed a
keen insight on how the Yellow Pages work (and don't work)
and has become most efficient in training media salespeople
on how to sell against them.
Her wit and charm have always been her greatest asset in managing,
field training and selling. As a leader, those on her team
always gave her many accolades. As a field trainer, the people
whom she was responsible for always achieved excellence. As
a salesperson, she is hard to equal.
Donna is at her best when telling "The Other Side Of
The Yellow Page Story" to business owners. She is able
to strip away their emotional hang-ups concerning what they
have been brainwashed with over the years. By the time she
is done, they respond, "Thanks so much for coming in
and helping me out. How come nobody has ever told me these
things about the Yellow Pages before?"
Donna also has many years in radio. As sales manager for KDLS
Radio in Perry, Iowa she learned the radio business from the
ground up. As a result, she understands the consulting business
from a media salesperson's point of view and can teach the
methods necessary to generate thousands of dollars from the
Yellow Pages and have the business owners thank them for helping
them.
